1Lt. Gerald O. Alfred, Jr., USAF, didn't get a chance to see much of the world. My goal is to have this bracelet travel as far and wide as possible touching the seven continents, and making sure he is not forgotten. I'd like to see him visit his hometown of Seattle if that is possible.
Update: As of 06/02/2006, "Alf" has accomplished several of my goals. He has visited three continents: North America, Europe (twice), and Africa. he has also toured Seattle, Washington. 121 stops and 29,000 miles so far, and counting!!!
1Lt. (now Major) Gerald O. "Alf" Alfred, Jr., is from Seattle, Washington, (the area I call home) and graduated from my alma mater, The United States Air Force Academy in 1964. He was shot down over North Viet Nam on 11 December, 1966, less than two years after graduating from college. I visited the Viet Nam Memorial a couple years back and found his name on the list of MIAs and started wearing his bracelet. It is bronze with "Alf's" name, rank and date of disappearance on it.
