Current Goal

The mission of this bug is to be photographed with trains (preferably real steam engines but garden railway toy trains are great too) and to return to the "Once Rails Now Trails" departure point within one year.

About This Item

The bug is a old staff ID card for the Friends of the 261. The Milwaukee Road 261 is a 4-8-4 Northern steam locomotive that was built in the 1940's and restored to operation in the 1990's. The largely volunteer staff helps to facilitate annual excursions of the engine and matching consist of coaches. See www.261.org for additional information.

Wir haben heute das TB Hotel in Ückesdorf auf einem kurzen Spaziergang besucht und ich wollte unbedingt einen der Bugs mitnehmen. Diesen hier werden wir bald wieder aussetzen.

Writer's note: My daughter picked this one up and I'm logging it for her. I'm actually very impressed how old this TB is, way older than my daughter. :-) Our own travel bugs got lost pretty soon and we haven't tried to send one out in a while. It looks a bit worn and we will try to patch it up as good as possible.
