October 30, 2017 update:
The coin disappeared after traveling zero (!) miles. We attended an event (https://coord.info/GC7DG1C) Where we resurrected our travelers as Zombies returning from the dead. Maybe this will get a bit farther than the original (which shouldn't be hard.)
