About This Item

This coin represents the Early Jurrassic form of the ammonite that is found in the fossil history from the Late Silurian (400 million years ago) to the Late Cretaceous (65 million years ago). In North America, many of the best examples of these fossils are found in the area that was the Tethys Sea from the Dakotas and Montana north through Alberta and Saskatchewan.
