Current Goal

To travel around Australia picking up stories and photos along the way. Mission #1 was completed and now I would like Jon's Sticks to travel to the center of Australia.

The multi cache located there is called Geocentrical (GC7CED). It has only been found 6 times since 2002! Since this cache is not visited that often Please dont leave the sticks in the cache...just photograph them there. Someday I hope to travel to this cache myself. Huge Bonus points if you can get a picture of the sticks with Jon Farriss :) Would like this TB to stay in Aussie please. Thanks!

About This Item

INXS TB

I'm from Massachusetts and the biggest INXS fan from this area!!! I love Jon Farriss the drummer of INXS. I'm a huge fan and was so excited to have this TB made for me by a fellow cacher! I look foward to watching the sticks travel around Australia.

They are a homemade replica of the sticks he is currently using on tour.

It's first mission to reach and be photographed at Perpendicular Point in the Jervis Bay area has been completed. Thanks to everyone that helped them to reach the lighthouse :)

Picked up from dudes yonder. Was reading past TB logs and was interested to learn my local pub, the Ocean Beach Hotel at Umina being the first Gig of INXS.

I have updated the Mission for this Travel Bug.

After thinking about it for a very long time I would like the sticks to reach and be photographed at Lambert Centre. There is a cache there! It's only been visited 6 times since 2002! Hope to pick up stories and more photographs along the way.

I enjoy looking at the photos of the sticks in Australia. I Love checking out everyones profile and photos that have logged this TB. Thanks everyone!

Thank you so much Us Mob for completing the mission of the INXS Jon Farriss Travel Bug. You have no idea how much it means to me to have these sticks get to thier destination. Love the photos :)

I will have to think about what it's next Australian Adventure should be.

Thanks Again,

Couldn't resist this. After a top hunt for Wreck Site - GC9BF1 - we found INXS in with the cache and looking to hitch a ride to Point Perpendicular for a photo shoot.

We'd just come from a beaut weekend at Honeymoon Bay, which is nearby, so we had to back track a bit before heading home to Sydney.

Not a big worry that as there are some fantastic views across Jervis Bay, from the point. On a clear day you can even see Pigeon House Mountain in the distance.

The best views, though are at the end of the track that heads left just after you pass through the car park gate. From the cliff tops there you can see forever up the coast. Very dramatic if the weather is wild. Be careful though. There are no fences and you can walk right to the edge.

We're not sure yet where we'll drop INXS off for the next stage of its journey, but we'll give you the drum - yes, the pun was intended ... :-) - when we've done the deed in a week or so.

  • Tatta-Tat-Tat ... Let me in!! INXS - Lighthouse Door - Point Perpendicular
  • Never far from the spotlight INXS and the Point Perpendicular Lighthouse.
  • Water Views Point Perpendicular from the track between Target Beach and Cilica Bay. An inspiring site from an inspiring walking track.
  • On a clear day... Looking north from the cliff edge ~300m from the Point Perpendicular Lighthouse. Majestic, powerful and scary in bad weather.

If possible, would the next cachers to retrieve INXS please take a picture of INXS at Perpendicular Point (access via Lighthouse Road)? When we saw the gate and guard at the entrance to Lighthouse Road, we mistakenly thought we wouldn't be granted access and didn't even ask. Evidently if the Navy isn't bombing, you may enter and explore the peninsula. We've since been told that the lighthouse is well worth seeing on it's own, and the views of Jervis Bay from the lookout are spectacular (dolphins, seals and migrating whales can often be seen also). Thank you!

We enjoyed caching with INXS. Safe travels little sticks!

P.S. Bummer - we didn't see your note until after we dropped INXS off, WeatherednBoston. There were many INXS sites we could have taken them too - but then other cachers might like a chance to geocache with this super T.B too! 😉 We had fun with INXS, and we're glad you enjoyed the pictures. Cheers!

  • Turn off to Lighthouse Road
  • All you need to do is ask...
  • Whale Point and wreck.JPG View to the north from the cache - showing the wreck on Whale Point, the beach beyond and the haze from a bushfire.
  • What's left of the 1920's wreck
