Current Goal

Mr. H2 did this highpoint in Vermont only four months after having a minor stroke and carotid surgery. With this in mind, keep healthy and exercise well as you take this bug on its travels.

About This Item

Vermont highpoint

Three sons, a daughter and 3 grandchildren also climbed Mt. Mansfield with H2. We found this replica at EMS with several other named benchmarks that we passed on to other family members who also are Highpointers.

PICTURES would be nice :)

Team UPSALQUITCH carried Mount Mansfield Benny to the top of SUGARLOAF Mountain today and took a couple of photos of it at its lofty perch and a couple photos of the view North and West. Thanks to EMSDanel for the great challenge and to the Travel Bugs owner for the opportunity to carry it up. The ski lift took us to 4110 feet and we climbed in ski boots to the summit. The skiing down to the base lodge was three and one-half miles on the Tote Road Trail. Life is good! - UPSALQUITCH

  • Mount Mansfield Benny at the Top of SUGARLOAF The homemade sign and the Travel Bug are resting in a flat spot about four feet below the summit at 4233 feet. The wind blew away the sign a moment later.
  • Mount Mansfield Benny at the Top of SUGARLOAF The top of SUGARLOAF is just out of the picture to the upper left.
  • Mount Mansfield Benny at the top of SUGARLOAF View to the North East. Katahdin is eighty miles away lost in the haze.
  • Mount Mansfield Benny at the top of SUGARLOAF View to the west showing the old Gondola summit station roof. The newer chair lift ends to the left of the Gondola building and some fifty feet below it.

Found this one in a cache today. The baggie had a hole in it and there was some moisture inside so I brought it home for some maintenance. I first put it into a "snack" zip lock baggie but that seemed equally as flimsy. So it now resides in a strong, 3" X 3" zip lock top, which should last quite a while. Nice TB, and I'll find it a new home soon.
