About This Item

Legolas the Elf

Hi, I'm Legolas (a member of the Fellowship from "Lord of the Rings") and I'm on my way to Mt. Doom. In our world it's called Mt. Ruapehu and is situated (of course) in New Zealand.
Please complete my log entries with nice photos!!!
I would be most pleased if they show me with cool trees.
When I reach my goal on Mt. Ruapehu it's most important to add a picture which shows me and the Mountain.
Please help me on my adventurous journey.

Ruapehu.
Bitte helft mir auf meiner abenteuerlichen Reise.

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/7/2008 ReefPilot retrieved it from MTY Layover Nuevo León, Mexico   Visit Log

Spent the night in MTY (Monterrey, Mexico). No caches in the area, so I placed this one. Logged you through, now back to our travels...

Nothing too exciting today. Spent the night in DFW (Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX) I've cached out all the nearby caches (and it is, as usual, very hot) so all I could do was visit a cache I placed near the hotel. While at my site, I replaced the logbook on the nano-cache before it became full. We are going the MTY (Monterrey, Mexico) tonight for another overnight. I already know there are no caches near the hotel, so I hope to get out and place a new one. (which I will log you thru for some more mileage) Tomorrow, we are traveling to PDX (Portland, OR). We get in rather early in the day for a rather long layover. I should be able to get out in some of the nice Pacific-Northwest weather and walk around on some cache hunting.

Took you with while I placed a cache in San Jose, Costa Rica. It took a little while for me to log this as I was waiting for the cache to be approved.

Back at it. This trip has me on a medium length layover in TPA (Tampa, Florida). I was able to get out for a 5.5 miles walk on this usual hot and humid Florida day. Found 7 caches today. Onward we fly...

Since SAT, we have done a lot of traveling, but unfortunately no caching. (until today)

Here is where I have taken you in the past week:
IAH-SAN-IAH-SAT-IAH-GYE-IAH-DEN-MSP

Back in MSP today, took geo-son #1 to swimming lessons. (same as last week) On our drive home we stopped by to find 4 caches. When I got home I received notice of a new cache listing which was less then 2 miles from home, so out I went for the FTF hunt. I GOT IT! This was my FIRST FTF! The caches was "19th Hole" (GC1E462) Because of my busy travel schedule, it is rare that I am at home when a new local cache pops up. But I got this one today. Sorry I didn't log you through all those caches today (which if you haven't already figured out....I usually only log through my travel companions on one cache per caching trip)

It is a short week at home, leaving Thursday for another (short) 4-day trip, return home by noon on Sunday. Unfortunately, this trip is similar to my last with overnights in SAT and GYE, so I probably will not get out for any caching. I have some time off after this trip, then a more interesting (or should I just say "different") trip scheduled for the last week in July. August schedules will be out soon with a bunch more caching destinations. Wherever I go, I'll be sure to bring you along..
