Esta moneda es en memoria de mi querida tía Erna. Quien a los 55 años ha fallecido con cáncer. Amaba rompecabezas y era muy amable con la gente.

Deze coin is ter herinnering aan mijn lieve tante Erna, die op 55 jarige leeftijd al is overleden aan kanker. Ze hield veel van puzzelen en was een echt mensen-mens.
This coin is in loving memory of my dear auntie Erna, who died of cancer at the age of 55. She loved to puzzle and was really a people person.
Kanker is na hart- en vaatziekten in Nederland de belangrijkste doodsoorzaak. In Nederland stierven in 2005 zelfs meer mannen aan kanker dan aan hart- en vaatziekten (bron: CBS).
Bij mannen komen met name de volgende typen kanker voor: prostaatkanker, longkanker en darmkanker.
Bij vrouwen komen het meest voor: borstkanker, darmkanker en longkanker.
Kankersoorten die bij kinderen en jongeren het meest frequent voorkomen zijn leukemieën, lymfomen en hersentumoren.
