Current Goal

This Trackable is found on the highly-competitive FTF (first-to-find a geocache) hunt in Seattle. The honor from finding the Seattle FTF Bell is immeasurable, and the bearers of this Bell should be accorded the respect and bragging rights due to these infamous cachers. Ideally, the Bell is displayed prominently by the tireless cacher while searching for those elusive FTFs. Some might say that this is to give the rest of us a chance, but truly this honor transcends such petty utilitarian goals.

This Trackable should stay with the finder, and be re-hidden (off-site as a FTF prize) in a new Seattle cache, ideally within two months of finding it. As it is meant to be found and logged with an FTF, please do not discover the Bell, but feel free to write a note. All members of a co-FTF team may log the Bell, of course.  In addition, please no "visits" to caches because it clogs this page, but logging a visit to events is encouraged!

If you forsee that you are unable to place the Seattle FTF Bell in a new cache within Seattle in the suggested time period, please contact the owner (quigquay), and we will find someone who will be able to do so. You will remain on the list of finders, of course.

I'd been so close to getting to claim the FTF a few times. Today I finally lucked out!

Sorry to all FTF fans and area geocachers for holding it for longer than I ever intended. Be ready for it to be released into the wild again.

KER-PLUNK! I’ve done epic & complex FTF Bell puzzles in the past, but in the interest of getting the Bell back into circulation on a more regular cadence, enjoy this fun one that i had waiting in the hopper.

I've updated the Bell page with the latest finders, and am happy that the Bell is still part of the Seattle Geocaching community. Keep those FTFs coming!
Also, a reminder for this upcoming event that no "discoveries" are allowed on this trackable, because that would clog up the page.

Thanks, everyone!

Well, B16TRAN picked up the TB and should be update this page soon. They're working on the next exciting challenge to obtain the Seattle FTF Bell.

In the meantime, here's the promised event. https://coord.info/GCB6A38

This year is the 20th anniversary year of this TB being out in the wilds of Seattle, and it's the 25th year of Geocaching. Hopefully other geocommunity folks will host many more events this year to celebrate both.
For this one, on May 15th at Fremont Brewery's Urban Garden, folks can gather to tell tall tales of FTF adventures, and hopefully some the The Usual Suspects can join. The Seattle FTF Bell itself may or may not make it, but will be there in spirit and story for sure.

  • Happy Birthday Year, Seattle FTF Bell November 25th is technically the day, but why celebrate for a day when we can celebrate for a whole year.

🔔 Received the bell and have it in hand now! Finding the tracking code was a cache in itself (hint for future finders: it's one of the many travel bug tags). I want to revive this trackable's tradition and get it consistently active again. I already have plans for the puzzle and hide; but there's an event for its 20th anniversary in a couple weeks, so will hold off until after then before publishing the new cache to not complicate things. The 1st of June sounds like a good date...

Congratulations to B16TRAN (with co FTF'er PippiLongStockings) for being FTF on the SQH - Camp Latona cache, of which this TB was the prize.

Stay tuned for an upcoming event where we can all toast a cheer to celebrate 25 years of geocaching, and 20 years of Seattle FTF Bell....
