Marmot's Mistake II wants to return to one of Marmot's caches in Foxboro Massachusetts.

About This Item

Mistake #1: Originally, this bug was "Off to See the Lizard," a very nice little tropical-print stuffed animal. Like certain other nifty travel bugs, it appears to have been too tempting for a cacher who ran across it and the lizard has dropped from circulation.

The Marmot has run into this problem before and has decided it was a mistake to turn something of value into a travel bug. When one of these nicer things goes astray, the Marmot uses the back-up duplicate bug tag and uses something absolutely worthless as the travel bug.

Mistake #2: The second mistake happened a couple of years ago when the Marmot was in New York City. He had a long wait in line to get a subway token. Being a forward-thinking mammal, the Marmot decided to buy extra tokens for future trips to NYC. That way, he wouldn't have to wait in line. Unfortunately, in the interim, the New York City subway went to a different fare system and the old tokens became worthless.

This New York subway token is worthless... making it a perfect travel bug!

Mistake #3 It appears that the original bug - "Off to See the Lizard" - is back after being missing for years! Now there may be two bugs with the identical tag number out there! Or is the replacement bug lost now...

I have been out of geocaching for almost a year and recently I cleaned out my truck and noticed this TB and another stuck in a plastib bag under the truck seat.

I do not remember when I grabbed it, or even from where, but I just double checked the TB number to make sure I had the right number and I did not make a mistake.

It is now in a cache in Raleigh, NC - opposite side of the Atlantic from where it first disappeared. Perhaps I picked it up when I was visiting Austria and Czech Republic almost 2 years ago, but I don't remember.

My apologies to the TB owner, and I wish this 'mistake' better trails on future caches...

Deze heeft maar kort in de cache gezeten, we zullen weer een mooi plekje voor hem zoeken.
Now i see that the owner is an american, so in english: this one was only for a short while in the last cache, we'll hopefully take it a bit further to it's goal.
