To travel across the US, to "fly" around the world--and make it home safely. (pictures of the journey or other tributes would be great).
On June 1, 1937, Amelia Earhart began her flight around the world. She was last seen on June 29th, 1937 when she left Lae, New Guinea enroute to Howland Island in the Pacific Ocean. You can learn more about Amelia and her many achievements at www.ameliaearhart.com . "Never interrupt someone doing something you said couldn't be done."--Amelia Earhart. "Amelia Earhart came perhaps before her time,...the smiling, confident, capable, yet compassionate human being, is one of which we can all be proud." -- Walter J. Boyne

We found our friends Jerry and Linda along the earliest parts of our caching trail. We also had the honor of their help as they took our very first geocoin along on their many caching adventures. Over seven years and many more than 50,000 miles, the Amelia tribute coin has logged with them. Today we found our 500th cache at Jerry and Linda's cache called "Bring Your Own Multi-tool". They also returned "Amelia" to us to continue her geo journey.... And today is Amelia Earhart's actual birthday! We loved "re-meeting" you for our 500th cache and wish you both thousands of
ahead. Many thanks. Ellen Lisa Madison Gus and Leilani.
