Murphy's coin is a 'Norn Iron' Geocoin.

The coin lists the 6 counties of Northern Ireland which spell F.A.T.L.A.D.

Murphy's coin would like to visit a country beginning with each of the letters F.A.T.L.A.D so... a country beginning with the letter 'F', a country beginning with the letter 'A' and so forth before, hopefully, landing back at his rightful place in Northern Ireland.

Please help me on my way!

Norn Iron Geocoin

Only 500 Norn Iron geocoins have been minted, Murphy's Coin is number 249.

On the front it features the Ulster flag and three famous scenes from Ireland past and present including the H&W cranes, the Titanic and the Giants Causeway in 3D relief. It also has the nmemonic FATLAD on the front which stands for the six counties of Northern Ireland.

The back of the coin has a shamrock and the six county names on it.

It was apparently found by tandog on the same day that I dropped it off, but hasn't been logged as found (or dropped again). Shame if it has disappeared!!

Retrieved it from East Lothian Woodland Walks 6: Bara or "FoF's K". No idea how it got there from it's previous "premium members only" location.
Am going to Denmark for christmas so will hold on to the coin until then and drop it in a Danish cache so it can get started on it's travels!

Crikey! The previous cachers have had this for AGES, and have logged it in and out of caches of mine that couldn't possibly have held it. The mileage must be good.

Unfortunately, being in Scotland, it's not currently qualifying, but I've already dropped it off again.

By the way, I thought it was NRN IRN. I saw a car with that on it once and puzzled for a while until I read it out loud. Hey presto - I had the accent and everything! Given my dad was from Co. Down (but never had any discernible hint of the accent, apart from the word "Marthz" (Maths)), I always take an interest in such things.
