About This Item

Ovis and Aries

Ovis and Aries, the Little Lost Yowes

This is the story of me, Aries, and my sister, Ovis, the Little Lost Yowes. We are from Scotland as you can see from the Saltires on our sweatshirts.

We’ve enjoyed our visit to California, but we really miss the very green fields of Scotland and our home cache, robertburns’ Ca’ the Yowes and Hallowe’en, GC1JT2Y
Will you please help us get home? We will be traveling separately so that we don’t take up so much room in any one cache.
Thank-you!

Ca' the yowes to the knowes,
Ca' them where the heather grows,
Ca' them where the burnie rowes,
My bonie dearie

Fair and lovely as thou art,
Thou hast stown my very heart;
I can die—but canna part,
My bonie dearie.

To learn more about sheep, especially the ancient Soay breed go here Ram's Horn Studio

Sheep, who have the fancy Latin name, Ovis aries, come in many shapes and sizes. Here are just a few from Glen Moriston and Stirling.

Discovered Aries in Wickford, Essex but will try and get him closer to home via my Edinburgh chum in the New Year or if that fails - up the M6 to Lancashire. In the meantime if Aries is happy, he can go on a road trip to relatives in Switzerland for a few days.........
