Bob’s Bug wants to travel far and fast as he is competing in the 2009 IGO Travel Bug Challenge.
This travelbug is a part of the IGO TB Challenge. Please visit the Iowa Geocachers Organization.
Challenge Rules:
- You must be a member of IGO and provide your GC.com username to participate in the race.
- To sign-up, send an e-mail with your GC.com name and TB reference number (TBxxxx) to "TBRace at Iowageocachers.org".
- Each person may enter only one TB (or trackable Geocoin) into the race.
- TB must be trackable on GC.com and start with 0 miles.
- TB must be placed in its first cache between September 22nd and October 5th. This cache must be in Iowa.
- Race will run from 12:01am September 22nd to 11:59pm December 31st.
- TB description page must have a link to IowaGeocachers.org home page and list the Rules for Movement during the race. This page contains the HTML code to be added to the TB description page.
- Rules for Movement:
- Owner can not move their own TB.
- A cacher can only move the TB to one consecutive cache. Examples of this rule are listed below.
- Cacher 'A' picks up TB from cache '1' and places it in cache '2'. Cacher 'A' can’t retireve the TB from cache '2'. If they do, any movement will be subtracted from total.
- Cacher 'A' picks up TB from cache '1' and places in cache '2'. Cacher 'B' picks up TB from cache '2' and places in cache '3'. Cacher 'A' picks up TB from Cache '3' and moves to cache '1'. All of this movement is acceptable. However, only 3 unique caches will have been visited.
-
- TB can not be mailed to another cacher.
Any “illegal” movements will be removed from the totals before being posted on the updates page. The TB owner will be notified of the removal via e-mail.
Race participants can not impede the movement of another racer’s TB. If a cacher holds another racer's TB for longer than 14 days, their TB will be disqualified. Moving it to a remote cache is okay, but then yours may end up someplace worse. So play nice.
