Go wherever Joe went (Ruisrock - GC1958Z - a festival where Joe, according to popular myth, made many fans - not only female one's, unlike most rock-stars - happy by providing them a sleeping place in his hotel room, is a priority 1 cache). Memories, stories, photos covering the life of JOE STRUMMER are appreciated.
I would prefer for this TB to return to Scandinavia.
To celebrate the memory of a hero from one's youth.
John Graham Mellor (21 August 1952 – 22 December 2002) a.k.a. Joe Strummer. Legendary singer of the legendary punk-band The Clash.
I still remember the day I listened to the radio-show called Smultronstället hosted by the (R.I.P.) late Wigwam (a legendary finnish progressive rock band) drummer Ronnie Österberg (15 January 1948 – 6 December 1980), when he announced the new Clash-album London Calling, and played the title track. It (and the other song he played - Lost in the Supermarket - one of my all time favourites) blew my mind. It was one of those moments in life when everything is turned upside down, and everything you've considered unchangeable changes.
I'm eternally grateful to Joe Strummer/The Clash for making me avare of the fact that punk-rock was/is not just noise.
In fact, that radio-listening might just have changed my life completely. Hadn't I listened to the radio that day (and hadn't I heard the tunes from the London Calling album - with it's iconic cover photo, one of the most rememberable album covers EVER), I wouldn't be what I am today. That's for sure. Thank you Joe, Mick, Paul and Topper.

We placed it here because it wanted to return to Scandinavia and Stockholm is a place where The Clash had several great concerts. Thanks for this bug!
