Awareness TB wants to travel as much as possible, helping to make people aware of diseases with awareness bracelets.
When launched, Awarness had two bracelets. The first is the one that started it all, Yellow LIVESTRONG. www.livestrong.org was started by world-famous Lance Armstrong who, when diagnosed with testicular cancer, declared himself not a cancer victim, but a cancer survivor.
The second bracelet is red and white BRAVERY. Aplastic Anemia is a blood cancer, hence the red and white for the blood cells. Cousin Jane was healthy, had never missed a day of work in over 16 years. One morning late in 2006, she collapsed in the shower. Till everything was tested and confirmed, the diagnosis was Aplastic Anemia. She needed a bone marrow transplant, but she had just started a new job, and the insurance company said she had to wait 2 years. In April 2007, Cousin Jane lost her battle to Aplastic Anemia just four months before the two year wait would have been over. To learn more, go to: (visit link)
