This is the first of three caches found on my way home from Roundup, MT. As anticipated Marc and the Roundup Panthers were defeated in their football game against the Huntley Project Red Devils. 53-0 being the final score... ouch!

Almost skipped this cache because there was a warning for rattle snakes in the description... I HATE SNAKES!!! Even the after thought is more than I can bear... pretty easy multi-cache. Beautiful drive for the day back to Helena, MT.

WOW RYEGATE MONTANA!!!

This one holds history for me for sure... not only by means of Chief Joseph... this is the home town of Steve... a long lost friend of mine... his family ranches up in the area.

I grabbed this cache on my way through to Roundup to see a buddy of mine, Marc, whom is coaching the O/DL for the Roundup Panthers. They are set to play Huntley Project Red Devils tonight in Roundup... the outlook is not the greatest but we will continue to think positive about the situation. Good luck to the Panthers.

LEARNING IN DENVER!!!

Well flew to denver today, have a baggage conference for United Airlines - Skywest starting tomorrow. Hopeful that some good information will be shared. Got all checked in with nothing to do this evening... beautiful Irma was otherwise occupied so I had to fend for myself... what better way than to do some caching... caching I tried but with only a 50% return rate... only found one for the day... but there is alway tomorrow... so the prospects are still looking up.

Couldn't complain got out for a walk... didn't get mugged... lived to tell about it... and ultimately... ONE CACHE IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!!!

HAVRE OR BUST!!!

The journey began with a delayed start (not quite as much available time for caching)... took the wrong turn in Great Falls and snaked our way through one ways and dead ends until alas Highway 87!!! Havre came quickly as we rushed straight for the game... Great seats available right on the 50 yard line... weren't we lucky... until all the students showed up... still good seats for what turned out to be a great game.

Following the game dinner with Wes and his friends. Quick peek at Kay's new apartment, then around 7:15PM C and I were off for the races to get home. 3/8 of a tank of gas and we should be fine to go to Great Falls for gas so we hit the road... Yummy Yogurt anyone??? Great little frozen yogurt shop on 5th Ave. And for the record... 5th Ave. does NOT lead back to highway 87. After a three hour tour of the Bear Paw Mountains, flagging down and getting directions from a very nice game warden out of Havre, Shane; three right hand turns and one stop sign later we were in Big Sandy. The same Big Sandy that is clocked at mapqwest.com as being 34 miles out of Havre... THREE HOURS!!!

Quick stop for a potty at the local rest area, and what do you know... they had a geocache... so potty and the hunt began for another cache and out of the middle of nowhere came a sketchy looking transient indian from out of the darkness... needless to say... search operations halted immediately and back to the car on to the next major obstical.

No gas available in Big Sandy... No gas in Loma... squeaked into Great Falls on fumes... fueled and continued on our way... now pushing 11:30 PM, we pressed on. Me ranting on a subject that has since been completely forgotten, C sitting in the passenger seat quitely building up to the frantic exclamation, "Deer, honey, deer!" A screech, a stall, a thunk, a summersalt and a broken headlight cover later, the deer got up and hobbeled away, we checked the car and pressed on. Finally arriving home around 1:30 AM only to find a message, pleading for me to come to work an hour earlier the following morning... 5:30 AM!!! OUCH... needless to say this was the only cache of the night, but a well earned one at that. Found this one with the use of Geocache Navigator by Trimble on the blackberry, very good application for any interested Blackberry Storm users.

For the record... this was my 324 cache!!!

OK so here is the real story of the cache... Drove up the back side of the Le Grande Cannon Blvd. Parked just outside the road block area and hiked in for a walk with Bailey (whom I was babysitting for the night). Walk went well, when we were within 25 feet of the cache, my friend Cheryl called and inquired about having a quick bite to eat for dinner. So I told her I would call her back in a few minutes (knowing I was not leaving with out a find). Anyhow since we had a ways to get back to the car thought we might as well jog, so Bailey and I took off. Got back to the car, got situated, and off we went... as I pulled out on Euclid Ave. I called Cheryl back she was waiting at Montana Nugget, as I was talking I said, "My car sounds funny, I think I might have a flat tire" and sure enough the next stop light a gentlemen next to me pointed and said "Flat Tire" so we pulled off the road, which happened to be the Montana Nugget parking lot. (How lucky was that). Called AAA while we finished up dinner and then the three of us (Cheryl, Bailey and I) hung out in the parking lot for a while... waiting... long story short... I HATE FLAT TIRES... could not even get the scissor jack in the truck to work... but neither could the AAA tech so thankfully he had one in the truck... after all the fun, Bailey and I were off to home for bed (with a little stop over to visit with my Grandma). Then it is off to buy new tires tomorrow. (Tread was so worn, dealer would not even repair... OUCH!!!)
