Lennellä ympäriinsä vailla tarkempaa päämäärää. Käyntejä sotahistoriallisilla paikoilla ja valokuvia arvostaisin suuresti.
To fly around without a specific goal. Visits to sites of military history and photograps would be highly appreciated.
Heinäkuun ensimmäisenä päivänä vuonna 1944 Junkers JK-254 pommikone lähti yhdessä muun pommituslentolaivue 44:n kanssa kohti Tali-Ihantalaa tavoitteena ilmatuen antaminen suomalaisille taistelijoille. Kesken tehtävän kone kuitenkin syöksyi Liperin Rauvanlahteen.
Pommikoneen hylky nostettiin järven pohjasta vuonna 2008. Sittemmin Keski-Suomen Ilmailumuseo lahjoitti museaalisesti arvottoman materiaalin Veteraanivastuu ry:lle hyödynnettäväksi sotiemme veteraanien hyväksi tehtävässä varainhankinnassa. Lentokonealumiini sulatettiin harkoiksi ja siitä taottiin Junkers-merkkejä. Tämä reissaaja on yksi noista aidoista, uniikeista pommikoneen metallista taotuista Junkers-merkeistä.
On july 1st 1944 a Junkers JK-254 bomber took off with bomber squadron 44 towards Tali-Ihantala, where it was to give air support to finnish soldiers. However before reaching its target, the aircraft crashed into Rauvanlahti in Liperi, Finland.
The wreckage of the plane was salvaged from the lake in 2008. Later the Keski-Suomen Ilmailumuseo aviation museum donated historically worthless parts of the aircraft to Veteraanivastuu ry to be used as a fundraiser for finnish veterans of war. Aircraft aluminium was melted and forged into Junkers-medallions. This travel bug is one of those genuine, unique medallions made from the aircraft metal.

today in took the tb to the brandenburg gate in berlin. other photos are from the formerly airport tempelhof, which is now closed. in times of the airbridge many 'sister'-aircrafts (junkers 52/1) landed here and provided the people of belin with food and other things...
i hope to find a safe place for the further journey until next weekend 🙂
