Dropping off in historic Essex Connecticut. This small New England town has a strong nautical heritage and built sailing vessels that participated in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. It became so well known for its sailing ships that it was actually attacked by the British in the War of 1812. This day is still commemorated by locals on the Burning of the Ships Day every year.
