About This Item

New Ole hat

This Ole hat is just a mere representation of the old original bush hat that contained a hat full of memories and pins from the beginning of my caching days until it was blown off and into the St John's out near Eat Mo' Possum.

This is the new Ole hat and was presented full of new pins to me at a CFC event from all my Geocaching friends in SCGA!

It came with a reminder.
Warning: This hat is not a Flotation Device!
In fact it was once tested on the St. John's River near Possum Mound Somewhere between SR520 and SR528 and failed miserably. The Hat doesn't float and in fact may actually drag you to the bottom faster.

Original Story: Nativefly182 (Dave) lost his Lucky Geocaching Hat whilst braving the cows, snakes and alligators of the St. Johns river when we were returning from Eat Mo Possum. At the tail end of this laborious trip an Air boat blew it off his noggin and once it hit the water it was a goner.

Dave had been collecting Geopins ever since he first started Geocaching. The mesh around his hat was almost completely full (thus the rapid sinking of same). Dave's a good guy and after all that we went through that day he wouldn't hold up the crew to search for it, nor complain about his loss.

We just happen to have a hat very similar and a bunch of Geopins plus a couple others I think he'll get a kick out of. We've assembled these together onto this hat. However, it is sparse in comparison to the Original. Our hope is to get word out to the Geocaching Community without his knowing and gather up a bunch more Geopins to help restore his Lucky Geohat as close as we can at least in weight and volume...LOL

Why have we embarked upon this project you might ask. Well, I'll tell you and this is just a snippet of his character; You see Dave is the kind of cacher that lugged and donated his Clan Riffsterize Ammocan to restore the Eat Mo' Possum cache. Need we say more.
