G'day Psychosian,
That was so nice of you to post a note! It certainly isn't your fault Drop Bear went walkabout!!! On the contrary! You were kind enough to retrieve Drop Bear, take him Geocaching with you (even taking a super picture! Thank You!!!), dropped him into a nice cache and wrote a log - Thank You * 5!
T.B.'s can be as much fun for their hosts as their owners - but they can also be a burden, and we realize that. It makes us all the more grateful for the wonderful Geocachers that move them along! Drop Bear's hosts have shared a chapter in their Geocaching experience, and taken us to places we will most likely never see - and for that we are very thankful!
T.B.'s have a tendency to get lost though, and we realize that all too well! We just had an experience with a Geocoin. We dropped one off this weekend, went online to log the find, and to our horror realized there should have been another coin in the cache! We had checked out the swag and had found no coin! Just in case there was a problem, we went back the next morning to retrieve the coin we had dropped off. I had the coin in my hand, and was about to write in the log, when the OTHER coin literally fell into my hand! It was in the log book the whole time! If it had fallen out unnoticed into the long grass either time.... well I shudder to think of it.
T.B.'s have shown up again, sometimes years later (maybe they go to the place missing socks in the washer/dryer go?!?). We won't loose hope that Drop Bear will show up!!! : )
Sorry this was so longwinded! I'll take the blame (husband Pip is busy elsewhere).
Happy Caching everyone - and a heartfelt Thank You!!!
Robbie
