Saw this bug and felt we needed to grab it and help out. I had worked with Dungeness crab for years with is the big west coast shell fish. We took a trip up the coast yesterday and took some pictures and will get a couple of more shortly. Love these crustaceans.

  • 500 Points M & S at Crescent City, California. The majority of Dungeness Crab taken in California are landed at this port.
  • Bruce Taken at one of the many groves in Redwood State and National Parks. This location is at Pairie Creek State Park.
  • Elijah We found this name amoung the crew members of the steam ship Brother Jonathan. This ship sank off of Crescent City with a large loss of life. A few years ago the ship was found and severval million in gold coins were recovered.

Finally got our hands on Chowda after looking a few times earlier last week. Our girls were very excited about this TB and were determined to get out there and find Chowda. We will be looking for photo opps in the next week then Chowda will be travleing with me to California and should end up in a Cache just north of San Francisco! Lots of miles there!
Chowda is sleeping quietly in the girls room now....
Fun stuff!

  • Chowda's good friends We love having Chowda here!
  • What a view I dont know if this is worth any points or not. This is at another cache on top of Mt. Mattie looking over Camden Harbor. I know you wanted pics of us with Chowda but i didnt really want to put my kids on top of this 30 foot wall!
  • Ships Ahoy I can steer this thing....where is my slicka?
  • Hail to the chief Summer kid with the big chief!(Chowda on shoulder)
  • Stuck in the windshield This is on eof many pictures we took at the Boothbay Railway village. Among all their railroad treasures they have, they also have a barn full of antique cars. This is one of them.
  • They dont make them like they used to Chowda taking a ride on a bike with no rubber on the tires, this was all steel!
  • Put your claws up where we can see them Chowda on the side door of a 1942 State trooper car at an antique car show....girls in reflection of very clean car.
  • this thing is slow
  • Next stop ...California Tough to see Chowda but he is there...
  • I need some help! Chowda trying hard to get down the tracks...
  • Here goes nothing Chowda took a trip with me recently to California. This is at the ranch where we stayed, it is a gondola so that when the creek rises quickly, people can still get across the river. Chowda went from Boothbay harbor , Maine to Petaluma, California and back. I tried to drop himoff there but we didnt have any transportation to get to a cache. The flying itinerary I have said I flew 2,700 miles each way! We will be dropping him off around here soon.

  • Chowda Dinner We took Chowda out to eat, but it caused a scene when Chowda got his brotha for dinner.
  • Everyone please remain calm... Then Chowda forced his way into the cockpit and took over the ship, planning to ram and sink all the other lobster boats in the harbor. Note his wise use of a Garmin GPS unit at top of picture. (Chowda was later subdued and taken to a secret test facility on Squirrel Island)
  • At secret testing facility Moments before making aviation history as the first airborn lobsta, Chowda clings tight to his high-tech, specially designed, aerodynamic lobsta-migration device.
  • The Chowda flies! At the secret testing facily, Chowda makes aviation history! Note the use of his large antennae to pickup GPS satelite signals and navigate to the enemy target.
  • Mission accomplished! Chowda the "smart bomb" selects his target and lands with precision accuracy to inflict maximum damage on the unsuspecting civilian population. All in a days work for a one-time eco-terrorist turned into a stooge for the CIA.

Found the Chowda in the funniest place, on top of a high dry ridge. Took some photos of it climbing up my braid and then the little crusty thing had a nice ride in a dogs mouth. Soon to be found in a Maine cache.

  • climbing the braid This is me and Chowda in a close encounter. --Bradey
  • Mouth-ridin' Lobsta Here is Chowda catching a ride in the mouth of a battery-operated dog. It was slow going, but it qualifies as transportation.
