About This Item

26 Bty , 4th Field Regiment , Royal Canadian Artillery ( Sarnia , Ontario ) arrived in England in December of 1939 . On July 7th , 1944 it landed on the beaches of Normandy . This coin is dedicated to one of the many killed and wounded from that unit as they made their way through France , Belgium , Holland and eventually into Germany from July of 1944 to May of 1945 . On February 16th , 1945 Gnr James Lowe was killed by shrapnel during a German artillery barrage near Bedburg , Germany .
