26 Bty , 4th Field Regiment , Royal Canadian Artillery ( Sarnia , Ont ) arrived in England in December of 1939 . On July 7th , 1944 it landed on the beaches of Normandy . This coin is dedicated to one of the many killed and wounded from that unit as they made their way through France , Belgium , Holland and into Germany from July of 1944 to May of 1945 .
Geoff Byatt - killed by a sniper at a forward observation post on August 3rd , 1944 near Fleury-Sur-Orne , France .
