Current Goal

ENTSOC BUG1 began his travels near Fort Lauderdale, the site of the 2002 meeting of the Entomological Society of America and would like to travel to the vicinity of future ESA meetings and be there about the time of the meeting.  Reno Nov. 2011, Knoxville, Nov.2012, Austin, 2013 Portland OR, Nov. 2014.  His original goals included getting to Brisbane Australia for the International Congress of Entomology in August 2004 and he arrived in Oz in Febuary 2004. He then traveled from Melbourne to Brisbane and at the time of the congress he was in a cache very close to the convention center where the entomologists met. He's now back in the USA and ready to travel to a future ESA meeting.

I'm pleased to see that EntSoc Bug 1, my first and oldest surviving TB has arrived in my home state of Illinois. I hope the pest control truck didn't make him sick.

I've been told that he is accompanied by a full page size laminated print-out which makes it a bit difficult to find a cache big enough for him. I turned him loose almost 6 years ago with nothing but his dog tag. I would not mind at all if someone removed this large laminated sheet but it would be OK to put him a plastic bag with a paper print out of his information sheet. That's what I do with my bugs now.

Thanks to all who have helped him rack up all these miles.

Got it from the really steep hill side. Two steps up, and slide at least one back down the side of this mountain.
Got permission from the owner to keep 6 weeks and relocate in Illinois in May.

Checking out the cache site and decided to take the TB to a new location. The "bug" will be replanted today.
