About This Item

AMTG The Golden Age Of The Heavy Horse GC 2

Mid to large size coin with heft. 1.8 inches by 1.6 inches 3.5 mm thick the fron is polished gold the revers is antique gold.  Available in other metal colors. 150 coins minted. Unusual shape and a pass through at the top. The shape is in the form of a "horse brass".  The front of the coin has bold 3-D work with the relief done in black enamel. The backgroun metal is polished. The reverse shows a life like image of a draft horse of the Suffolk Punch breed. The edge of the coin has nice scallop work and the background metal texture is brushed. The metal color is antique compared to the front. The rim has script that reads "The golden age of the heavy horse". Euro coin. Excellent coin.

Info on the coin: Horse brasses were used on harnesses to make a little bling and to ward off the evil eye. The pass through is where the brass was strapped to the harness. These are collectors items and old ones are nice to find. They usually have a green patina due to oxidation.

The Suffolk Punch is one of the rarest UK draft breeds.

Designed and produced by Geogenus,

So many of my trackables have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. IR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
