I travel a lot for work. Over the years I have used multiple technologies to contact home. Technology quickly becomes obsolete so I now have a pile of old technology sitting around the house. So I took 3 of the main ones I have used and made them into travel bugs. In keeping with the traveling and getting home theme I am going to drop them off on different trips throughout the country with the goal of getting them home.

This one is a Sprint Merlin card, basically a  cell phone modem, it replaced my Nokia cell phone in late 2003 and was much faster.  It was in use until late 2005 when Sprint came out with a newer version of the card that can hit speeds close to DSL!  Not sure what can come next but I'm sure my SUPER card I am using now will be replaced by something faster in a year or two.

The 3 bugs are
TBNFVK – a USR 33.6 modem card
TBN1KV – a Nokia 5165 TDMA cell phone
TBMVEW – a Novatel Merlin C201 cell card

Please note that all of these bugs are all nonworking items.

    My family is visiting relatives here in Westlake. We are from Utah. I've been able to get out a little to cache and have enjoyed my first finds in California. I've taken my grandsons on a couple of kid friendly caches while here. They love to treasure hunt. I retrieved this TB from the Westlake Indians Cache. It's now moving east to Utah where I'll place it in another cache after getting home from this vacation in a couple of days.
