During the war (second world war) the electric draining by windmills was in danger.
Poldermill, O,C and E provided this area, this was not in the true proportion of the 52 windmills, but a severe disaster, flood, was avert! (Wikipedia) Now we enjoy this beautiful area!

We took this travel bug to Enkhuizen, a city in North-Holland near the IJssellake. The port of Enkhuizen has been bombed during WWII. Near the port, at a canalside, the Germans had a warehouse for food. During a night in early 1945 a few members of the Résistance robbed this warehouse and via the canal they sailed to the swomps nearby. A part of the swomp nearby the city has been turned into a suburban living area, were this cache is located.
