To travel the world, collecting stories and pictures from Air Force and Air National Guard bases and Airmen. Specifically to visit the old Lowry Air Force Base and Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado.

About This Item

James "Eagle" Evans

This coin is being released in memory of Col. James "Eagle" Evans. Col. Evans served in the USAF and CO Air National Guard, and was also an avid member of the Looking Glass Corvette Club in Colorado.

Jim was a very dear friend of mine, and he would have loved to hear stories from Airmen all over the world. If you have a chance, you can see Jim's eagle collection at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Aurora, Colorado.

Also, because of his love of Corvettes, if you have a vette or a good picture of one, please share. His cars were a green '92 C4 and a red '65 coupe.

This morning I was FTF on a cache in North Las Vegas, NV, (https://coord.info/GC83CFR) and imagine my surprise to find this beautiful geocoin in the cache!

Unfortunately it wasn't logged into the cache and since I've given the current holder enough time to drop it, which he didn't, I'm grabbing it.

As a 30 year (more or less) USAF Veteran myself, I really LOVE this coin. I'm camping and traveling a little in the next few months so I'll drag this with me.
