First Latvian Geocoin

This coin was made in 2008 by latvian geocaching enthusiasts. A guy with a shovel is Spriditis from a tale by A. Brigadere. He is only several inches tall, eager for adventures and is determined to find happiness. Behind him is a contour of Latvia - his homeland. On the other side is a theme of "Lielvardes josta" - ancient belt with traditional ornaments.

Hello! I like coin's design myself very much. It was a colaboration of latvian geocaching enthusiasts. Sketches were discussed in local internet forum and now we can evaluate the final version. Initially 250 coins were produced. A lot of them travels around the world. You can search trackables by name "First Latvian Geocoin" and see that some others have reached US (for example, TB2PY9T, TB38FQ6). Maybe you will be lucky to meet them too. Happy geocaching!

Beautiful coin! I love its simple design in two colors. Great texture with the ornamental belt and raised outline of the country. I biked through Latvia on an 800 mile bike ride through the Baltic States. The Latvians could not have been kinder. Where can I get one of these coins? Discovered in Boo2931's current coin collection. He took it to school as they are studying European countries.
