Walk around the world and proclaim name of Latvia. Please, take a pictures!
This is the First Latvian geocoin, designed in year 2008. In the middle of front you can see Latvian boy Spriditis from very famous fairy tale by Anna Brigadere. Fairy tale tells about Spriditis who went away from his home to search for the luck. On his way he had a lot of adventures, just like geocachers - therefore we can also call him the first Latvian geocacher. He has his shovel in his hand - a very important attribute, because with this shovel he tried to dig money in the swamp. He didn't find any. Actually these golden lights were only wildfires or maybe he got wrong coordinates? At the end of the fairy tale Spriditis returns home and understands that the true luck can be found only there. Behind Spriditis you can see outline of Latvia and it is filled with colours of the Latvian flag- carmine red- white- carmine red. On the back side of the coin you can see Latvian traditional ornaments used in decorating belts, dresses, tools but can be also found engraved on stones. These ornaments are more than thousand years old.
