As promised, today was the day Gary and I parted company. I took him to a TB Suite near the intesection of two busy highways. This Suite has many visitors and if I were a betting cacher, I would bet he will be on the road to new adventure real soon. The Suite is in a sweet setting and there are other TBs resting there as they wait to be retrieved so Gary will have lots of company as he rests and waits. Farewell and good luck to Gary.

Today was Primary Election Day in Wisconsin. I am a poll worker and Gary spent the 15 hour day with me observing the voters and the voting process. Mrs. CBIIF is also a poll worker. Gary spent alot of exciting time with the CBIIFs before I retrieved him from a cache so today it was a kind of reunion for the two of them. In addition to a picture of Gary on the sign directing voters to the polls, pictures were also taken of him in the polling place with Densspot and Mrs. CBIIF and a picture of Gary on the machine used to count the ballots. Both Gary and I will be calling it a day soon and tomorrow he will start looking for new adventures with another cacher.

  • Gary on the sign directing voters.
  • Gary with Mrs. CBIIJ and Densspot at the polls.
  • Sitting on top of the voting counting machine Gary gets a birdseye view of the ballots as they enter the counting machine.

I took Gary geocaching with me in the Heafford Junction area today and what a day we had. To get to one cache we had to go down this big slope but we found the ammo box when we got there and after the difficulty getting to it Gary wanted a picture with him on the cache. On the way out we got to the railroad tracks just in time to see a train coming so we waited and got another photo of him watching the train speed by. It was just after then that Gary almost got kid napped. A family of geocachers met us by the tracks as they were going to find the cache we just found down the slope. They saw Gary and asked to grab him. Ordinarily I may have let them but tomorrow is primary election day in Wisconsin. I am a poll worker and had already promised to take him with me for the day and to let him visit a dear friend of his. My plan is to share him with someone else on Wed. 8/15. After our caching adventures today we stopped at the Wind Mill ice cream shop and treated ourselves. In addition to vegetables, Gary likes ice cream too.

  • Cache at the bottom of the slope.
  • Train watching at Heafford Junction Wisconsin
  • All adventures should end with ice cream.

Gary and I went to check out the Vilas County Fair today and while in that area did a little geocaching. He of course wanted photos for his collection so the camera was always with us too.

  • Gary was not tall enough to do the fair rides.
  • Gary liked the vegatable displays best.
  • Gary did not swim in the chain of lakes.
  • Gary found the cache in Lions Park.
  • Gary found the Crystal Lake cache too.
