Wasted no time in getting this beautiful geocoin an exciting adventure today. We drove down to Lumberton, Mississippi to jump out of an airplane several times with the jumpers at the Gold Coast Skydivers drop zone. The f0t0m0m coin stayed (relatively) safe riding in a fanny pack attached to my skydiving rig while enjoying four jumps from 14,000 feet. We flew to altitude in the drop zone's Super Twin Otter jump plane, then bailed out of the door and experienced over 70 seconds of freefall flight at over 125 miles per hour before deploying the chute and having a 5-minute ride back to a soft landing. We participated in several formation skydives, flying with other jumpers to form multiple different formations on each jump. In all, we traveled over 21 miles, vertically. At 2:00 in the afternoon the heat index was around 112 degrees, so it was time to head home and jump in the pool with my kids and grandkids.

Now this geocoin has experienced the thrill and beauty of flight and knows why the birds sing. I'll get it back into a local cache soon.

    Blue skies!
    Model Citizen - Zero Discipline

    • Model Citizen and the f0t0m0m coin after jump #1. That was fun!! Let's go do it again (and again, and again, and...)
    • The GCs & TB on my rig after the day's 1st jump. Now it's time to pack this mess back up and go make a few more skydives.
    • All packed up and ready to jump again. These are the geocoins and travel bug that made four skydives with me today.
    • A tandem student and instructor prepare to land. The f0t0m0m geocoin hung out in the landing area for a little while watching all the parachutes land.
    • Tandem coming in while another one watches. There were lots of young people at the drop zone today making their first tandem skydive.
    • About to touch down. Nice and soft. The tandem student (in front) puts their legs out and lets the skydiving instructor in the back take all the force of the landing.
    • Back on the ground, safe and sound. The f0t0m0m geocoin watched one plane load of skydivers land before we decided it's much more fun DOING than WATCHING. Here we go again!
