Current Goal

To travel from cache to cache and assist in finding clues to the location of the Revenge of the Tape Measure geocache, which is in the vicinity of Hudson, Massachusetts. The travel bug should be kept in eastern Massachusetts.

About This Item

Each of the three “Revenge of the Tape Measure” travel bugs can be used to find a clue that will provide the coordinates of the Revenge of the Tape Measure cache. When you recover the travel bug from any cache, use the indicated dimensions to measure that far away from the cache to find digits of the coordinates. How will you know how far 42 and 71 inches are from the cache, while you are in the field? That’s what the tape measure is for! Amazingly, you will be able to find these clues at any cache that the tape measure travel bug is hidden in. The next step is to move the travel bug along to another cache as you would any other. Once you have found all three travel bugs and discovered the information they provide, you can put together the coordinates to find this cache. To assist in your search, you will probably want to put each of the 3 travel bugs on your watch list.

The coordinates will be as follows: 42 22.ABC 071 31.DEF

Use Tape Measure Travel Bug #1 to measure out 42” and find digit: A
Use Tape Measure Travel Bug #1 to measure out 71” and find digit: E
Use Tape Measure Travel Bug #2 to measure out 42” and find digit: B
Use Tape Measure Travel Bug #2 to measure out 71” and find digit: F
Use Tape Measure Travel Bug #3 to measure out 42” and find digit: C
Use Tape Measure Travel Bug #3 to measure out 71” and find digit: D

Please order the digits carefully using the above instructions. I have mixed things up to ensure that it is necessary to retrieve all three travel bugs to find the cache.

If you are having trouble in the field getting the information, bring the travel bug home with you and send me an e-mail.

Actually retrieved it from the Garfield Woods cache. We'll dip it to correct the mileage. Hopefully the other Tape Measures will reappear so we can solve the mystery! We'll drop it off soon.

Picked up the TB and moved it to Garfield Woods GC but (foolishly) didn't take note of the tracking code to be able to log it in properly.
