White Rhino

Thank you for being a part of this travel bug's journey.

Ideally this TB would like to make it to Johannesburg South Africa which is at the southern most part of the Southern White Rhino's natural habitat.

Although the Rhino is gray in color, the English word "white" is said to have been derived by mistranslation of the Dutch word "wijd", which means "wide" in English.

The Wikipedia article on the White Rhino is a good read. I would also recommend reading the article on the Northern White Rhino which is near extinct. 4 of the remaining 7 in the world actually came from the Czech Republic. (You'll have to read it to figure out how that happened.)

Please note that Baby White Rhino has made the trip from Germany to England. We are looking for a Bug Hotel that has lots of Activity in the Direction of South Africa. Another opportunity that has become a possibility is Baby Rhine might tag along with some US Air Force Airman to Africa. Sorry it took so long to get an update....

will try to help him get closer - kids were happy to see him and took him to five guys *update we had sent him to friends in Germany and know that safely arrived there. we had a big move this summer but r settled now so we will make an effort to encourage our friends to log his new European adventure!
