Help Scouts from Northern Star Council in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota move this pinewood derby Travel Bug® across the nation and into as many Scout and non-Scout hands as possible. This is the first ever nationwide Pinewood Derby race, and we want to cross the finish line! One Pit Stop will be Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia for the 2010 National Scout Jamboree on July 26, 2010. Prizes will be awarded for cars that travel the farthest, pass through the most hands, and have the most creative route, among others. Help us speed along by moving this Travel Bug. Northern Star Council is among the five largest in the United States and is led by over 24,000 volunteers. More than 1,100 community organizations, representing educational, religious, non-profit, civic, and business organizations join in partnership with Northern Star Council by chartering 1,746 Scouting units (packs, troops, teams, crews, posts and groups). The Northern Star Council is the result of the July 1, 2005 merger of the former Viking (Minneapolis) and Indianhead (St. Paul) Councils.
