Most of the battlefields around here are part of the National Park Service, which doesn’t generally allow caches (other than virtual ones). This one is close by to my home so I finally took Kanuuna over for a visit. This is a Union artillery piece on a ridge used by Union troops during the second battle of Manassas (August 29 & 30, 1862). You can clearly see from the imprint on the muzzle that this artillery piece wasn’t used at this battle since it was made in 1863. This is located at Manassas National Battlefield Park, 6511 Sudley Rd, Manassas, VA 20109 (38.812830, -77.546177). You can see the gun at those coordinates in Google Maps.
