This little bug was wandering along a trail in Maine, contemplating life as it should be. Meanwhile, its owner left town and returned home to Portland .. Oregon! Perhaps sooner than later it will arrive on the left coast for a visit with its owner in Oregon's Portland.
This item is a off cut of wood from a wooden boatbuilding shop in Pemaquid, Maine. It is starting off at a cache placed near an organization called The Carpenter's Boatshop, which recently celebrated its thirtieth year of community-building and boat-building. Hopefully it will be received with hospitality and community-building as it travels along.
The name of the bug comes from the title of an amazing book by the amazing writer/artist/historian Eric Sloane.
