We really have no mission for Edweena the Island Grey Fox except to show folks all over this land what a beautiful and gentle animal they are. So move her around as much as possible. I'm sure she'll warm your hearts as she did ours.
This is all that is left of Edweena the Island Grey Fox, photos and best of all, the memories. For over 18 months she was best friends with Capt. Ed and his family on Washington Island, Wisconsin. She would even come into the house on a few rare occasions never staying long because of the wildness in her. Edweena was as gentle as a newborn lamb and was always begging for a treat. Her favorites were macaroon cookies and she loved pizza too but she would just about snack on anything. She got a steady diet of dry dog food which she always ate with relish. She was at the house daily for 18 months after we became buds, never missing a day. She always left in the late afternoon or evening and we never found out where she spent her nights. Then, in the Fall, whitetail deer bow season opened up on a Saturday morning and she was never seen again. We miss you Edweena. Please do not consider this a sad story. We were very very lucky to even know her...
