Hai Karate 'lo Jackie Chan

This little Karate kid represents the martial arts. My family practices Tae-Kwon-Do and we are fans of Kung-Fu and Karate movies- especially Jackie Chan.

In the years since Chan (the bug) left us, I have earned my black belt, wifemate has dropped out of TKD and Murasaki got to temporary black belt and is now in college and taking up fencing. She is looking into other martial arts at school.

Yay! He's Home!

Thank you JWO1214 for sending him home.

He bears the marks and battle scars of a traveler that has been gone more than 3 years and traveled over 21000 miles.

It is a very interesting end to his journey, arriving through the same "blue cache on the corner" (mailbox) from which he arrived in my hands over 3 years ago.

The travel bug tag was received as a "reward" for returning GPS Fun's cane to him which I had found at a local park. Shortly after receiving the unactivated travel bug tag, Wifemate saw him at the hallmark store and we bought him and sent him on his mission.

He never made it to Hong Kong, but in his travels he nearly circumnavigated the world. Oh, that I could be so adventurous!

He will now take up a place of special honour on our Christmas tree, another special ornament with a story to tell.

His legacy shall live on in the caching community as I promised jwo an unactivated travel bug as a reward for putting him in the mail. (It'll be in the big blue cache tomorrow). May your new travel bug survive and flourish.

  • A little the worse for wear I imagine I would have a few "battle scars" too if I had lain in Tupperware boxes for 3 years.

He got within 50 miles of home, and when I went to pick him up, he had been retrieved before the log in was posted.

Well, it looks like he's headed south toward Alabama.
