This is my car's Travel Bug decal, which sits in the lower-right corner of the rear window. I don't travel a huge amount outside of the SF Bay Area, but there is the occasional long drive up the coast or even as far as Arizona. Please log where you see my vehicle, and post photos if possible!
Sometime in the last several years I picked up the nickname "The Man". When I originally joined myspace, I used this as my profile name, and would often take on a pompously clueless, overbearing persona in my blogs and communications with other people -- appropriate, I think, to the spirit of what people historically meant when speaking of The Man, i.e., "The Man's holding me back!"
This nickname quickly caught on in other aspects and activities in my life (my last career, the local sci-fi community, etc.), becoming so ingrained that I even referenced it in my made-up title when my folks made me an officer of their corporation: Vice President of Keepin' You Down.
What does this have to do with my Travel Bug? The bug's name, An Fear, is the Gaelic translation for "The Man".
