My family and I were lucky enough to host Aléjandra from Punta Arénas, Chile, through AFS during the 2015-2016 school year in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. She became a part of our family and we continue to wish her well. When here, she gave me the keychain bearing the Chilean navy vessel, La Esmeralda. Though the ship was used for a variety of reasons, it makes me think of my Chilean daughter and her time with my family, and that is a good thing. This travel bug's mission is to travel to South America, eventually Chile, then, if possible, Punta Arénas, which is at the southern tip of the continent along the Straits of Magellan. Please take as many photos as possible along the way. Thanks!
