About This Item

Baxter’s Java Bug (Proxy)

This is named after my Search & Rescue K-9, Baxter. He is a Golden Retriever and we work for the Los Angeles County Fire Dept and are members of California Task Force 2. Baxter is trained to locate live victims burried in rubble any type of disaster. After we were deployed to Haiti in Jan 2010 following the earthquake, I decided Baxter needed his own TB to travel the world like he can. I waited until now to start his journey so he wouldn't be too close to home. November 14, 2010, Baxter and I had to re-certify for FEMA in Staten Island, NY so that is where I started his TB journey. Baxter's Java Bug would love to catch up with Braden's Java Bug (TB2TF70) that has been in circulation since 8/14/09 (named after my son). 

Update:  Baxter was deployed to Japan in March 2011 following the 8.9 earthquake/tsunami.

I took Baxter to Gc headquarters. Because that's where his Is owners BRAEDEN TB .. Was last spotted.. I was attempting to pick it up to get them together.. To move on to long beach.. However when I got to headquarters the Travel bug was not there ..after getting home, I saw that somebody dropped it at a library up the road from HQ in a multi- cache that same day.. I will attempt to go up there in the near Is computer to try and retrieve it..
