Dougal's ultimate goal is to reach New Zealand, so he can round up some sheep.
Dougal's Profile
Dougal is a dog, half Foxhound and half... Well we're not entirely sure about the other half.
Although whenever I've asked Dougal, he declares he has royal ancestry being half Foxhound and
half Corgi.
Dougal has been living quietly in St. Abbs for a couple of years; he spent a lot
of time surrounded by books, so thinks himself well read. He likes to chase and heard sheep
(maybe his father was actually a common Border Collie). He also likes to chase foxes, which
I am sure he would maul badly if he ever managed to catch one.
Travel Plans
A couple of weeks ago Dougal started to express a desire to explore the world. He said that
while he enjoyed life in St. Abbs he found it a little quiet. So Dougal and I discussed
all the possible places he could travel to.
"I'd like to get as far away as possible", said Dougal.
"You can't get much further away than New Zealand", said I.
"New Zealand, where is that", asked Dougal.
"It's right under your feet", I told him.
"Ok, but what does New Zealand offer a dog like me", asked Dougal.
So I told him all about bungee jumping, kiwifruit and sheep. Dougal's little ears pricked
up when he heard that New Zealand has over 40 million sheep and they out number people
eleven to one. As Dougal likes to chase sheep, he has decided that he wants to go to New
Zealand and chase the sheep there. He would also like the opportunity to chase sheep in
other countries too.
Travel Goals
Dougal would like to travel the world with the ultimate goal of reaching New Zealand.
While travelling Dougal would like to meet and be pictured with animals which he can chase
or heard.
Dougal doesn't care for postmen, so please don't send him through the mail; there
is always the danger he may break loose from the parcel and bite an unlucky postal
worker.
I am going to miss Dougal, so would like to hear from everyone who meets him on the road.
If you do meet Dougal please give him a cuddle and a clap every now and then.

Dougal and I visited this cache briefly, before heading home for the evening. We'll visit a few more caches tomorrow and play with my nieces and their two cats and new puppy.

I found this rather agreeable-looking fellow today in the YAWCC cache. We then found two more caches together, including the Cliffhanger cache. I did the cliff-hanging and Dougal stayed out of harm's way so that he could call for help if something happened to me.
I've already introduced him to several pals here in Austin. We'll see a few more sights together and then hit the road together. I'm heading home to Seattle next week, which should get him just a bit closer to the antipodes (New Zealand). First, though, we're heading for North Carolina for a bit of business and more cache hunting.

I picked up this cute little pup today from Packrat Stash. I believe the last person to drop him there forgot to log him. Anyway, he is going to spend a short time with me and learn the ropes from my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Caymus. They have become fast friends already. Look for pics soon. I will then do my best to move Dougal west!

Dougal meat Donald and Minnie in Orlando, Florida and travelled to Austin, Texas where they all made friends with the Texas Longhorn. See picture attached.
As noted, has been picked by Big Mo, since I just returned from travelling. Good luck Dougal for trip to California and ultimate goal to New Zealand.

Found this guy in the Celebrate Disney cache. I'll move him to a spot where he can hitch a ride down under.

Well Dougal has had a good time in Edinburgh Hedgie has taken him round the pubs and clubs and the two of them have never been sober. They done a bit sightseeing but not much(to busy drinking) and now it's time for him to move on. I'm not sure what he wants to do whether to go looking for sheep or to visit more pubs. Time will tell.
