About This Item

Cruzin' Main IV

Main streets have changed over the years, some for the better, some for the worse. Cruzin’ Main IV’s goal is to gather information on Main Streets now and back then. If you have a picture of your town’s current or past main drag, post it on Cruzin’ Main’s website. If you don’t have a photo, just post the name of your town’s main street (for example, Omaha’s main drag is Dodge Street). In any event, let us know where Cruzin’ Main cruses to.

Was going to take this one to Texas. We stopped in McAlester, OK, and they are going to have a cruisin' night tomorrow. I thought that might be very appropriate for this little guy. TFTTB

Found this one on a gorgeous day in Missouri. I'll either put it in another cache in MO or take it home with me to Baltimore, Maryland.

We picked this one up from Go Big Red on a cold, windy day. Was happy to see that it was Twinstars that started this one off - our friends from Breakfast at the Moose.

Sorry it took so long for us to complete the goal of this travel bug, but we had fun digging into the history of our main street. We did find something that we all found interesting about Lincoln's history.

Prior to his historic flight on May 20-21, 1927 ---- Charles Lindbergh learned how to fly at the Lincoln Aeronautical Institute. The flying school was founded by E. J. Sias at 2415 O Street in 1922. The flying school also has the distinction of being one of only nine civilian facilities used to train our Armed Forces after the war started.

Thanks for a fun travel bug. We will get it moving again as soon as we can. KSMVAV
