"The Thing"

Long, long ago as a youngster poppy attended a very scary movie at a drive in theatre. The movie was called "The Thing" or "The Thing From Another World".

In the movie scientist at an Arctic research station discover a spacecraft buried in the ice. Upon closer examination, they discover the frozen pilot. All hell breaks loose when they take him back to their station and he is accidentally thawed out!

As poppy remembers the movie a hand was severed from the pilot and as the alien got close the hand would begin to twitch and move as if it were attached. It was very scary for a kid about 6 or 7.

Seeing this item in a cache reminded him of that old movie and he wanted to make it into a travel bug.
