Current Goal

7 June 2008 Second Mission -

Special "Thank-you!" mission to Afghanistan and back to the USA!

About This Item

Second Mission: We're off again to send our thanks to the troops! This mission includes thehider in Afghanistan on deployment. We mailed our bug to him to release in a cache of his choice. He will decide what happens next to ~EOD Snack Attack~! Add this bug to your watch list to see where it goes next?! Mission One: While searching for caches, the asterick was next to Afghanistan indicating a new cache. Checking it out, we decided to contact the cache owner of "797th EOD" (GCH347). The cache is located between Charikar and Kabol. Without trying to be too nosey, we asked if he was still over there...a quick reply back was YES. Some how we wanted to say "Thank-you" but didn't really know how. We decided to send this travel bug out to him after he agreed. We're sending some snacks in return. The trip over to Afghanistan will be easier than the return trip.
Some how, if possible, we'd like to get the EOD Snack Attack back to Hidden at Heritage Park (GC2DFB) in Massachusetts with hopes of moving it on to a cache that Kaboom1976 will choose! We're starting out where it wants to return until Kaboom reassigns the mission goals. As always, any photos along the trip would be great! Special thanks to the 797th EOD & Kaboom1976!

This cache was the first and most important stop of a multi-cache trip on a sunny fall afternoon. As a veteran myself (US Army, 1967-1970), I was honored to return this TB to the cache it set out from over a year ago on a trip halfway around the world to spend some time with our troops serving in Afghanistan. It's now back home... Mission Accomplished! Please keep the men and women of our Armed Forces in your prayers.... may they all soon return safely home.

  • Mission Accomplished! As the card says, this TB has returned to its home cache after a "Thank You" mission to our troops serving in Afghanistan. May God Bless them all and like this travel bug, may they too return safely home.
  • Home at Heritage Park! ~EOD Snack Attack~ finally home at Heritage Park!

Visiting GeoFaux #4 Inner Strength with 6079smithw and spotted this bug. When I saw its goal, I grabbed it. I know that park very well, having marched in parades in the area many times. Being a military veteran myself, I will be proud to deliver the bug to Heritage Park in the coming week....after traveling halfway around the world and back again, it's coming home! And that's my wish for TheHider and all our troops. As in previous logs, our prayers and an enormous "Thank You and God Bless You" to the men and women of our Armed Forces serving here and all around the world. Like this travel bug, may you all return safely home again... that will be the best log entry ever!

  • God Bless Our Troops The dog tags say it all!
  • In Good Company! Being a US Army veteran myself, I'm honored to take a picture of my old dog tags in the company of this travel bug dog tag, because it in turn has spent time in the company of the finest people there are... our Armed Forces who go in harm's way every day for us! May God bless you and watch over you, and may you all return safely home!
