Current Goal

Show my owners what Germany is all about! I would like to travel to Germany stopping at any spots that say "Germany" to you along the way. Whether it's the best place for place for a great German Lager, the best fresh baked pretzels, art from a German artist or anything in between I would like to see it. Once I am in Germany, I would love to visit as many places as I can collecting pictures and showing off the best parts of Germany, beautiful landscapes, art, food, anything and everything that is worth seeing.

About This Item

My husband and I have a long list of places we would like to visit around the world. Germany has never made it on the list. Nothing has ever really caught our interest. Show us why Germany should make it on our list of vacation spots!

The Spearfish Canyon Byway cache was our first find in the Spearfish area, our first FTF cache, and with the adoption of the German Flag micro coin, our first venture into the world of trackable items. Our local log seems to indicate that jo-daz may have dropped the coin in the cache right before our arrival. As soon as we have the perfect location selected, we'll get the coin back in circulation. Great design.

This cache is located near Coors Brewery in Golden, CO. Almost every day of the week, there are free tours, ending with 3 free beers / person in their tasting room. Or, one can skip the tour and go straight to the tasting room. We've been to Germany twice: Munich, Oberaumagau, Melk and the concentration camp, Mauthausen. The Bavarian alps are gorgeous and we recommend visiting a couple of Mad King Ludwig's castles there -- Linderloff with its amazing grotto and Neuschweinstein (sp?) that Walt Disney used as a model for his Sleeping Beauty Castle. Train systems are easy to use in Germany, but a car is handy in Bavaria. Melk on the Danube River is a lovely town and the church overlooking the town is breathtaking. Mauthausen is very sobering and not overdone for tourists. Then we'd recommend also visiting nearby Austria -- Vienna and Salzburg.
