Bring our children home. Remember.....there are no "winners" in any war.
Wouldn't it be nice to have this GC make it to Iraq where there ARE men and women serving the world that DO geocache?
UPDATE: I have just sent coins and other Gainesville FL cachers have sent "ready to hide" caches to our geocaching troops overseas. May they have a little "down" time looking for something fun rather than something deadly. Mintmoonpi is the one that has organized the "care package" to her brother who is serving. Maybe if others here state-side could do the same, it might help relieve some of the stress our fellow cachers (and soon to be cachers) are going through.
Large coin with lots of heft. 1.75 inches 3 mm thick antique silver. Available in other metal colors. The tracking number is on the rim so there is no front or reverse. One side has slight 3-D work and nice enamel. It shows the country of Iraq, done in red, white and black. The center has script and three small stars. The background metal has nice texture. The map, in the medallion, is surrounded by a wreath of leaves. The rim is done in matte red enamel with edge work and script that reads "We must never forget the price of freedom". The other side is outstanding 3-D work and stricking enamel. The symbol of Iraq, the Lamassu, is very well done in relief (very unusual) surrounded by stripes of red, white, green, black and glow in the dark yellow enamel with 3-D edge work. The black enamel rim has script that reads "Iraqi Freedom Honor, Sacrifice, Bravery". Excellent coin.
Info on the coin: The Iraqi Freedom geocoin is a commemoration to all military and civilians who have participated in this tough campaign and sacrificed so much. The front of the coin features a 3-D image of a Lamassu statue located in Iraq. The Lamassu was used during the Assyrian Empire (who ruled much of the area now know as Iraq and areas of other surrounding countries) and represented a protective spirit to ward off evil and fight chaos. They were used at the entrances to cities, and their faces usually looked toward one of the cardinal directions. It symbolizes the intellectual human, lion courage, and eagle freedom. The front of the coin also has the colors used on the military service medal. The back shows the country of Iraq with the colors of the flag inlaid to its shape.
So many of my trackable have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher that understands. Thanks. BR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually. After looking at the TB page for each TB that she discovered that I didn't, I found that a number of TB Codes necessary to discover the trackable were included on the TB Page itself or intentionally or as a spoiler in the photo gallery. Sometimes there was an attempt to obsure or hide the TB Code that was not entirely successful making it fairly easy to determine the TB Code needed to discover the travel bug.
