About This Item

Sakari's Road Trip

Hi - I'm a little vacation car called "Sakari's Road Trip". My goal in life is always to have fun. It doesn't really matter where I am going or what I am doing as long as it is fun getting there. I want to go camping, hiking, exploring, offroading, traveling, sight seeing, and most of all geocaching. Put me anywhere where there is a chance for me to go on another vacation. VACATIONING IS MY LIFE! So take me with you on your next vacation, I'm sure it will be a trip. :)

This little car had a nice long rest in the cutest little garage. It should be all ready to head out again.

The road trip to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure was a big success for our little Cooper Mini friend. What could be better than an All-American trip to Disneyland after red Square!!!! 😎 😁 😉

Sakari will go to a nice cache for a rest soon. Too much excitement!

  • Screamer The rollercoaster "Screamin'" at Disney California Adventure (DCA) is awesome!
  • Disneyland's upgraded Castle The castle was all spiffed up for Disney's 50th Anniversary. THE SAME DAY Sakari was at Disneyland was the start of the Disneyland 50th anniversary celebrations.
  • Sailship Columbia Sailship Columbia takes us for a ride around the Rivers of America
  • Winnie the Pooh meets Sakari
  • Stagecoach ride Well, you USED to be able to take a real stagecoach ride at Disneyland, but not for many years. The coach is all decked out, so you never know....

Sakari's Road Trip has now come home to the good ol' US of A! CurlyKrakow knew a good offer for a TB when he heard it, and this Travel Bug will very soon (this week, weather permitting) be visiting Disneyland and the newer Disney California Adventure! Pictures will be provided. Could there be more contrast between successive locations for a TB than Red Square in Moscow, and then Disneyland in California??

Thanks for TB, Curly!

UPDATE 4/29: Sakari is on his way! He went out with the mail on Wednesday and should be in SoCal in about two weeks.

OK, now that I've got the promised Red Square pics done, it's time to get Sakari back on the road. Since the caches to be found are quite limited here, I've got a recipient lined up in Southern Cal who will put him back into circulation there. He'll be in the mail this week!

  • A Mini Cooper and a Big Dictator. The sign says 'Lenin', if you hadn't guessed already.
  • The Kremlin Bell Tower Every hour on the hour.
  • St. Basil's Cathedral The one building everybody knows.
  • From inside St. Basil's, looking out @ Red Square. From left to right:
The Kremlin Wall, Lenin's Tomb, The State Historical Museum and the GUM Department Store.
  • WWII Memorial / Tomb of the Unknown Soldier On the other side of the Kremlin from Red Square, in the Aleksandrovski Gardens.
  • Laying flowers at the Memorial. A WWII veteran.. the first of many leading up to the May 9th VE Day celebrations, I'm sure.
